FLASH HARRY

A Celebration of the Music
and Magic of Queen

Welcome to the Official Website

for Flash Harry!

Here's a video about who we are and what we do. The interview footage is from 2000, ahead of a Show at The Grand Opera House, Belfast, Northern Ireland. The background footage is from our Rocked Up & Classical Show at Belfast's Odyssey Arena in 2010.

Flash Harry is a Band of 5 musicians, and it's hard to remember a time without the likeable and genuine guys who, since 1992, have been re-creating the legend Rock music that was Queen (whose music has been a consistent sound track in all walks of modern life since the 1970's), following Freddie Mercury's untimely death in 1991.  They've constantly raised the bar in taking their Show to new and more challenging heights year after year, to a point where they can safely say that they are the most successful and adventurous Queen tribute act around, delivering a catalogue of Queen songs which never pass their sell-by date, illustrating the Band's diversity, talent and love of the Magic of Queen.

The music can be pretty complicated stuff – many of the songs have a different chorus every time, and sometimes no two verses are the same – a challenge for any accomplished musician.  With their own particular slant, Flash Harry performs the songs as the extravaganzas they are, to very exacting and expectant audiences.

The repertoire has grown somewhat from the 26-song set which launched Flash Harry in 1992; it encompasses the majority of Queen’s released material, both well known and lesser so, but there’s no doubt that the staple diet of anthems incorporated in the regular sets, will always get the crowd on their feet dancing, stamping, clapping and singing along each and every time. Indeed, it's often the case that members of the audience shout out to the band members; and as Harry is often heard to say; "It's no good shouting "Stevie" - there's three of them"!!

The Band has toured extensively all over Ireland, and widely in the UK and abroad. Their track record speaks volumes for the quality of the performances and sheer entertainment value of their Show. They've sold out major top-notch venues time after time, including Belfast's Grand Opera House, Waterfront Hall, Dublin’s O2, and even London's Royal Albert Hall. Their own-style "The Magic of Queen - Rocked Up and Classical" show, incorporating a 64-piece orchestra and 40-voice choir, has filled the biggest venue in Ireland - Belfast's Odyssey Arena, to capacity several times, earning the guys their place in Irish Rock Music legend. They are also repeat headliners for the International Queen Fan Club's Annual Convention, where they play to a highly critical audience.

And so Flash Harry is still going strong, since its 1992 inception - a class longevity for any band. Many miles have been travelled and great craic experienced along the way. They're no strangers to TV or radio either - not bad for a bunch of local home-bred Northern Irish guys eh! The reason for Flash Harry's success is simple, it's a show of hit after hit, delivered with the very essence of live performance: energy, enthusiasm, talent, passion and pure showmanship. The music of Queen is universal in its appeal, and the reputation of Flash Harry is well earned - quite simply, it's live music entertainment at it's very best; you just know that the guys can deliver a rock show as good as any you will ever experience.  Audiences see the band rocking out Queen’s greatest anthems from "Radio Ga-Ga" and "We Are the Champions", to "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Who Wants to Live Forever" and everything in between.   Rarely will a show reach across the generations and deliver as much as Flash Harry - a Celebration of the Music of Queen.  For a night of good old fashioned rock, Flash Harry is a Band not to be missed!

So, one might ask how the Band will carve out its future?  One thing's certain, and that is that their feet are firmly on the ground; they know that keeping on doing what they do best is the key to success - it ain’t broke, so they’re not about to fix it!  They have a loyal, and ever increasing fan base who expect a breathtaking, electric and professional performance each and every time ….. and it’s the guys' intention never to fail to deliver in excellent fashion.

The Rock Legend that was Queen - The undeniably fitting Tribute that is Flash Harry!
